For those looking to stream 4K content, not all NAS are created equal. After trying several models, I landed on the QNAP TVS-872XT. It’s a beast! Handles multiple 4K streams like a champ, thanks to its i5 processor and 16GB memory. Plus, the HDMI 2.0 port is handy for direct play. If you can swing the price, it's the ultimate 4K streaming solution IMHO.

Definitely agree on the QNAP TVS for high-end performance. Remember though, having a solid network setup is just as crucial for that 4K streaming experience. Don't skimp on a good router and consider wired connections over WiFi where possible.

Props for the QNAP setup, but I went the DIY route and built my own NAS. It's a bit of work but total control over hardware. Running a Ryzen 5 3600 with 32GB of RAM, tucked into a Node 804 case. The thrill's in the build for me, plus it's plenty for 4K streaming and everything else I throw at it. Not for the faint of heart but worth considering if you're up for a challenge.

Nice pick with the QNAP TVS-872XT! Definitely top-of-the-line for serious 4K streamers. I've had similar experiences with Synology's DS1821+ paired with some Seagate IronWolf Pro drives. With the right setup, it's as smooth as butter despite it being a bit less in terms of raw power compared to your QNAP. Have you tried running Plex on it? That's been my go-to setup and it's been handling everything I throw at it.
