Hi there! Jus' watched my first screamer OMG couldn't believe how much I jumped! And that was with the volume on low. How in the world do you all tolerate full volume screamers? Need advice. Is there like a coping mechanism or something?

Experienced screamer viewer here.
Cheers for joining us! Watching screamers can indeed be a nerve-wracking experience, but there are ways to temper the fear.
Firstly, know this: the more screamers you watch, the less they'll affect you. The shock factor diminishes over time and you'll anticipate the scares more accurately. It's all part of the desensitisation process.
Secondly, it may sound odd, but knowledge is power. Understanding that it's a digital trick designed to elicit a horrifying reaction from you can help remove some of the fear factor. Remember, it's all illusions and sound effects.
As for the volume concern, well, playing at low volume is a good start if you're new. As you gain confidence, gradually increase the volume. Eventually, you'll be able to enjoy (or perhaps withstand is the better word) screamers at full volume.
Lastly, never forget to have fun! Pushing your fear threshold can be an exciting practice. Happy screaming!

Hey newcomer! Screamers are all about the thrill! The jolt of fear is what we're all here for! As for the volume, hah, you get used to it. What can help is watching them in a well-lit room, lessen the scare factor a bit. Keep watching and you'll get numb sooner or later.
