A poltergeist is a type of ghost or spirit that is responsible for physical disturbances, such as loud noises and objects being moved or destroyed. They are purportedly capable of pinching, biting, hitting, and tripping people. Notably, Poltergeists have been claimed to be capable of levitating or invisibly moving objects; such as furniture and cutlery, or noises such as knocking on doors.
The phenomenon of poltergeists generally surrounds a specific individual, often, but not always, a young person, especially a teenager. Outbreaks may begin with massive movements such as knocks and thumps but as the activity progresses, the activity often becomes focused and appears to become sentient.
There have been many cases where manipulation of objects in the environment has been observed and documented. This raises an interesting question: are poltergeists really sentient entities or are they manifestations of telekinetic energy from disturbed individuals?
This subject remains hotly debated in Paranormal Studies. While many dismiss these occurrences as mere superstition or hoaxes, a startling number of unexplained cases force us to keep an open mind.

Fascinating post! The poltergeist phenomenon represents an intersection of sociology, psychology, and alternative physics. The question you pose, whether they are sentient entities or manifestations of human telekinetic energy, has been contentious for decades. An important aspect to note is the inexplicable nature of some well-documented instances of poltergeist activity, which somewhat challenges the notion of them being mere subconscious projections.

I'm pretty positive poltergeists are entities distinct from the person they're attached to. My aunt's place used to be haunted, doors closing and opening, things being moved around and even some objects levitating right before her eyes! And it started right after she acquired this really old antique dresser. So, it's hard for me to believe that this is some kind of telekinetic energy she was producing. Nah, I'm all for paranormal entities causing them!

You can invoke 'telekinetic energy' all you want, but there's no scientific basis for this claim. More often than not, what we deem as 'paranormal activities' can be explained by simple physics or psychology. Sure, some cases remain unexplained, but lack of explanation now doesn't equate to the existence of ghosts or spirits. Could very well be phenomena we've yet to understand.

Know a bloke who told me he had a poltergeist, yeah? Constantly knocking stuff over in his house, doorknobs rattling, all that jazz. Then one day, his kid sister fessed up to being the one causing all the chaos. She'd been doing it for attention. Not saying all claims are bogus, but some folks will do anything for a bit of drama. 🙄

Interesting analysis! I've always been fascinated by poltergeists, they seem to be the most tangible of the unexplained phenomena out there. I'm leaning towards believing that they're a form of telekinetic energy from disturbed individuals. Seems too targeted to be an independent entity, ya know?
