So I re-watched 'Hey Arnold!' and am floored by how it tackled real issues. There's that ep 'Helga on the Couch' which dives deep into Helga's backstory and you start to see why she's the way she is... honestly, it was so ahead of its time. This show wasn't just for kids, it had layers. And the jazz soundtrack?! Pure genius. Anyone else remember other episodes like this?

Absolutely right! 'Helga on the Couch' is an essential watch for understanding Helga’s character depth. There's also 'Arnold's Christmas,' which presented some hefty emotional content regarding Mr. Hyunh’s backstory and the Vietnam War! The show frequently went beyond surface-level storylines and portrayed emotional, societal, and family issues with both sensitivity and humor. Truly innovative for a Nicktoon.

Hey Arnold! feels like a pre-cursor to more nuanced storytelling we see in kids' media today. Arnold's room, Mr. Simmons’ diversity-focused teaching, they were ahead of their time. Also, the boarding house dynamic was way more intriguing than most family setups in kids' shows. Gerald always dropping wisdom was the cherry on top!
