Am I the only one who thinks the Rugrats reboot misses the mark?

So I watched a couple episodes of the Rugrats reboot and... yikes! I feel like it just doesn't capture the original charm. The 3D animation feels kinda off to me, and the humor seems more forced. Tommy and the gang were so much more expressive in the original. Maybe it's just nostalgia goggles. Anyone else feeling this way or am I just being too critical?

I was hyped for the reboot but kinda bummed by it too. The new Angelica isn’t as ruthless, and the music doesn't have that cool jazzy vibe anymore. They need to bring that back!

The move from 2D to 3D is a big leap and sometimes shows struggle in translating charisma onto 3D models. The animation could be a bit stiff? Maybe they need to experiment more with expressions!

I just started watching 'Rugrats' with the reboot, and I think it's cool! The graphics are so clean! Not sure what the fuss is about. 🤷‍♂️

You're not alone! I've noticed the pacing is slower too, and not in a good way. It might be hard for adults who grew up with the original to connect, but let's see how kids these days feel about it.

Pfft, nostalgia is for the weak. Who needs charming 2D when you can have soulless 3D bumpkins? 😂

Back in the day, 'Rugrats' was all about exploring the world through a baby's eyes, and it truly felt like an epic adventure on each run. Like that one time Tommy went to the moon in his backyard or when Angelica tried to teach Spike some manners—it was real, heartfelt, and funny. This reboot might be going through growing pains, but it just doesn't seem to hit the right beats, you know?

But hey, the CGI is pretty slick! It's a different art form, sure, but it adds a new layer of visual detail we never saw in the 90s. Maybe they'll iron out the storytelling in later episodes.

Totally agree! The reboot loses that old school hand-drawn magic. The babies had this wild creativity that just doesn't translate in 3D. Plus, what happened to the jones for adventure? Kinda feels watered down.
