Fake Sale Prices

Get this, I went to the store for the big 'up to 50% off' sale. Walked in and what do you know, the 'discounted' price is just the original price slashed with the ‘sale’ price exactly same. Like, who are they kidding? Saw the same item last week with my own two eyes. It’s like they think we won’t notice - just slapping on sale stickers and calling it a day. It’s not a sale if you’re not actually lowering the prices!! Ain’t fooling nobody!

Always read the fine print, folks. The 'up to' part of the 50% off sale means literally one item could be 50% off and they're legally covered. It's a loophole they exploit. I make a habit of documenting prices of items I'm interested in beforehand and compare during the sale. This way, you can challenge them if they're being dodgy.

Wow, that's really shady. I always wondered if those sales were legit. Feels kinda dumb now, I probably overpaid for stuff thinking I was getting a discount...

Maybe you just need to get better glasses 😂 Let's face it, if you still go to those sales expecting real deals, maybe the joke's on you! Try online bro, brick and mortar is just for window shopping these days.

You gotta be vigilant about these things. Check the prices weeks in advance and maybe note them down. A lot of stores do this price manipulation before big sales like Black Friday. Some legit sites compare prices across several chains; they're handy for seeing who's actually giving you a deal and who's playing price tag gymnastics.

This is just INSANE! Every freaking time there’s a so-called sale, it’s just a trick to get us through the door. It's false advertising and they should get in trouble for this. I'm done with stores like that. I'll just stick to my trusted ones and buy online, forget this nonsense!

I get ya, it’s frustrating when you think you’re gonna snag a deal. Maybe we should start a thread where we can post proof of these fake sales to warn each other. Been duped a few times myself, not fun. Lesson learned: Never trust a sale sticker!

ahh the ol’ fake sale trick, get used to it 😂 stores been playing this game for years. wanna beat em at their own game? use a price tracker or just snap a pic of the price before the sale starts. then you got the receipts to call em out!

This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic! Some stores will jack up the 'original' price right before the sale so the 'discount' looks way better. Always check the price history if you can, lots of websites out there track this stuff. Consumer protection laws are supposed to prevent this, but it's not always enforced. Might be worth reporting them if it's a big chain.
