It’s 2023 and people still don't get it. 'Your' and 'you're.' They're NOT interchangeable! It's not rocket science, folks. Every time I see 'your welcome' instead of 'you're welcome,' a part of my soul just withers away. Does grammar not matter anymore?!

Don't even get me started. Back in my day, we took pride in our spelling and grammar. It's a sign of respect to the reader to take the time to write properly. Every 'your' instead of 'you're' is like a tiny insult. It's not difficult to learn the difference. And don't blame autocorrect; it's a poor worker who blames their tools, as the saying goes.

It frustrates me to no end! I'm an aspiring writer and words are my tools. Seeing them misused is like a carpenter watching someone hammer a nail with the handle of a screwdriver. It's just wrong on so many levels. And it's spreading. Social media, texts, even some indie books are plagued with these basic errors. We need to raise the bar again, people!

While I agree that proper grammar is important, aren't we forgetting that language is fluid? I'd argue that context is king. As long as the message is conveyed & understood, isn't that what truly matters? Plus, autocorrect can be a pain sometimes, and not everyone has English as their first language. Food for thought.

Honestly, everytime I see 'your' instead of 'you're', I want to scream. It's the basic grasp of English that seems to be missing. And don't get me started on 'they're', 'their', and 'there'. It feels like the more technology we have to correct our grammar, the less people actually care about learning it. sigh

This! 🙌 I don't understand how people mix these up. It's such a simple rule. Your = possession. You're = you are. I mean, it's elementary school grammar, right? But then again, I see this mistake in emails at work all the time. It's not just an online thing, it's everywhere, and it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.
