Mr Monopoly's monocle - where'd it go??

Alright, Mandela effect got me spinning; since when did Mr. Monopoly not have a monocle? I can picture the dude with it so clearly, this is messing with me big time. Anybody got the same memory or am I alone in this? Feels unreal, man...

I'm guessing the monocle myth is because Mr. Peanut, another iconic mascot who does sport a monocle, is getting mixed up in our heads with Mr. Monopoly. Brains are crazy things, my dudes, mixing up all sorts of pop culture imagery.

Right?! I played this game on PC in the 90s and would've sworn that character model had a monocle. I think old games and movies kinda blurred the look of Mr. Monopoly for us. We're all just victims of our pixelated past.

Okay hear me out, what if every time we remember something like this it's cause we've experienced it in a parallel universe?? Could be we're sliding between dimensions without knowing. The monocle was real...somewhere else [emoji_eyes]

Plot twist: the monocle was repossessed. 😂 But seriously, my entire life's a lie now. What's next, he never had a top hat either?

Board game geek here. Mr. Monopoly never actually had a monocle in any official Hasbro imagery. It's a common misconception, likely influenced by pop culture depictions of wealthy individuals. Monocles are often associated with affluence, which fits Mr. Monopoly's vibe.

Honestly, I think it's just because the monocle is such a stereotypical rich guy accessory that our brains just add it to his character. Rich uncle pennybags is just too perfect to not have a monocle, right?

Dude, you're not alone. The monocle thing gets me every time. I swear he had one in the commercials when I was a kid. Maybe we all played so much Monopoly we just gave him one in our heads? lol

This is a classic Mandela effect, no doubt. Loads of people remember the monocle. It's wild how so many of us have the same false memory. Alternate realities? Shared consciousness? Who knows, but it's freaky!
