Whisperings among the crew suggest storylines that ranged from Little Pete discovering a secret society underneath Wellsville to Big Pete facing an existential crisis provoked by a mysterious traveler through town. What's particularly intriguing is that a handful of these scripts were allegedly circulated on fan forums in the late '90s but have since vanished.
Finding bits and pieces of these unaired episodes has been my white whale for years, and I believe we might have a breakthrough. An old reel-to-reel rumored to contain a portion of the lost episode 'Pete's Parallel Paradox' has been discovered in a defunct New Jersey production studio. first time poster long time lurker here -- I hope this isn't another dead end! those episodes sounded bizarre and knowing Pete & Pete, they would've been brilliant. here's hoping you strike gold, OP! imagine the hype if you actually find something.

Huge if true. I'm into film and tape restoration, and old shows like 'Pete & Pete' are exactly the type I like to work on. If you get your hands on the reel and it's legit, you'll want to digitize it ASAP. Nitrate film can be super volatile, and magnetic tape degrades over time, so you'd pretty much have a ticking time bomb of TV history. I'm in the tristate area; hit me up if you need any help with the preservation process or just have general questions about the medium.

LITERALLY shaking reading this, you have no idea! 'The Adventures of Pete & Pete' was my childhood! I've been on the hunt for anything unreleased for years. I even tried to contact former crew members a while back, no luck though. This find could be the highlight of the decade. Crossing my fingers for you!

Intriguing to say the least! Worked in TV archiving for years. The fact that a reel exists isn't that far-fetched. Studios ditch unaired stuff in weird places sometimes. But be cautious, what you'd find might not be complete or in good condition. If by some miracle this is part of 'Pete's Parallel Paradox', expect degradation, both visual and audio. Definitely keep the sub updated, I'd be interested in the technical aspects as well as the content.

Oh man, uncovering actual 'Pete & Pete' lost eps would be epic! I remember watching the series as a kid and it was so out there and cool. I'd kill to see what other wacky stuff they had planned. Keep us posted on that reel-to-reel, if it's legit this could be HUGE for fans!
