OK so in the early '00s this artist was going around and snapping Polaroids of random people on the streets, right? They had this haunting, candid vibe to 'em. The series was called 'Faces from the Fringe'. It was on exhibition once but then the dude disappeared and the photos with him. Just wondering if anyone else has these or knows where they might’ve ended up?

For those interested in 'Faces from the Fringe', I'd recommend checking out archives or contacting photographers from that period. Someone might have digital back-ups. With Polaroids, once lost, it's a real challenge, but all it takes is for one person to remember stowing them away. Will definitely keep this series on my radar.

I have a small hunch. There was this artist, Julian something, who did the street Polaroid thing back then. He had a falling out with the gallery owner where the series was debuted. It caused quite a stir. Julian was a reclusive type, might have just stashed the series and split town. Talk in the scene is that he left the country. Your best bet might be looking overseas in Europe, possibly Berlin? That place is like a magnet for the artistically disenfranchised. Good luck hunting.

I swear I saw one of those photos at a secondhand shop near me! Looked just like what you're describing. Didn’t buy it tho – kicking myself now. Seems like something worth framing and having on the wall, considering the story and mystery behind 'em. Anyone else seen these in the wild?

Been tracking 'Faces from the Fringe' for a while now. The artist – name's escaping me atm, but I have a few leads. The problem is that after the exhibition, everything just... disappeared. No sales records or gallery listings after 2003. It's quite the mystery. If anyone has a contact in the underground art scene from back then, hit me up.

Oh man, 'Faces from the Fringe'? Sounds like a treasure trove of genuine expression. I love stuff that captures raw humanity. If those Polaroids ever surface, could be a real snapshot of the era. Gonna keep an eye out at flea markets and vintage sales. These things have a way of popping up when you least expect it!
