Anyone remember that bizarre game show from the 90s? It was in Japanese and contestants would do these insane obstacle courses, but here's the kicker - it was all in a giant house. I can’t find clips ANYWHERE and it’s driving me nuts. It had this cult following for a while... I gotta find this, it's like a piece of my childhood is missing!

You sure you're not just blending different shows you watched as a kid into one mega-show in your head? Happens a lot. That said, Japan had a TON of wild game shows back then, and most didn't get archived well. Might take you a bit of digging through old TV guides or forums. Good luck!

I'm on the hunt now, your question sparked my curiosity. There are mentions of a 90s Japanese show that was all about over-the-top house obstacle courses. Not a lot to go on but sometimes Japanese auction sites have old recordings, and variety show forums might have die-hard fans who can help. I'm gonna nose around and see what I can dig up!

Hey! I do vaguely recall something like that. I think you're talking about 'MAJOR FORCE' or something wild like that. It had those intense challenges that were inside this whole set built like a house or a building, super weird stuff. But I watched it on a VHS tape a friend had brought from Japan. No idea where you'd find it online nowadays.

That’s definitely ringing a bell. You may want to check out 'Trans American Ultra Quiz,' or it could be one of those special episodes of 'Gaki no Tsukai' that they did back in the day with different themes. They sometimes had obstacle courses set up in atypical settings. Trying to find specific clips can be a pain since a lot of that stuff never got officially released outside of Japan or is tied up in licensing hell.

You might be mixing up shows. Takeshi's Castle is often what people remember, but there was also 'Za Gaman' which involved more indoor-type settings. There's also a lesser-known show called 'Denpa Shonen' that had various bizarre challenges. Any ring a bell? The precise one you're describing doesn't exactly fit, but if you have more details, I’d love to dig deeper.

hmm sounds familiar, arent you talking about that show 'Takeshi's Castle'? lots of weird and wacky challenges, though not exactly in a giant house... that was more like an outdoor setting. might not be what ur looking for but defo had a cult following
