This is a real shot in the dark, but I gotta try. Back in '92, there was this interview with a band named 'The Real McCoy' on some obscure radio station. They talked about the influence of techno in mainstream music—it was like prophetic. But more than that, they played an unreleased track that blew my mind, and I haven't found it since. I'd give anything to hear that track again, even just to prove I didn't hallucinate the whole thing. Anyone got a lead or a tape collector contact?

I know. I remember the radio station called "KWWW" and it went defunct sometime around the 2010s. If I remember correctly, minus the interview, the track was shown on an unknown BBC comedy series from the early 2000s I can't find the name of.

Dropped a line to my tape trader circle and nada on 'The Real McCoy' rarity. But, there's this London record fair coming up - packed with collector types who might have uncatalogued gems. If you're not UK-based, might be worth sending a wishlist to someone who's going. Lost tracks from '92 aren't easy but I'll DM ya if I catch any whispers.

I vaguely remember KWWW, they had some pretty chill sets. Tried hunting down their archives a few years back for something else, hit a dead end. That station's like a black hole for lost media, swear to god. For that BBC comedy thing though, you might wanna comb through old TV forums. BBC series have superfans that catalogue every second of airtime. Good luck dude.

Oh snap, 'The Real McCoy'! That's a real deep cut from the eurodance scene. Techno influence was all over the place then. Have you tried reaching out to any internet radio communities? Some of those DJs are like vaults for old tracks and interviews. There's also a slim chance someone might've digitized their old radio recordings. It's a long shot, but hey, stranger things have happened.

Bit of a long shot but back in the day I used to record tons of stuff off the radio. Haven't come across an interview with The Real McCoy, but I'll dive into my tapes just in case I missed labelling one. These gems from the 90s are getting harder to find, but damn, when you do it's pretty sweet. Will get back to ya if I hit the jackpot.

This is a fascinating quest you're on. I've done some audio archiving myself and might suggest you reach out to universities with media preservation programs. Sometimes they have obscure collections that are digitized but not widely publicized. Also, contact the radio station itself if it still exists – old employees or DJs might remember or even have personal copies of their shows.

Honestly I remember when The Real McCoy was super popular, especially overseas. I doubt that track would've stayed underground if it had any potential to blow up. You might wanna check out the possibility that the track later got released under a different name or was remixed into something else. These things happened a lot with 90s euro/techno groups.

Hey, I collect old radio recordings and 'The Real McCoy' is definitely on my radar since I'm a huge fan of the techno scene in the early 90s. I don't have the interview you're talking about, but I'll ask around. These things usually turn up in the most unexpected places. Check out blogs or forums dedicated to tape trading, sometimes they have threads just for lost radio recordings.
