Came across this rad, obscure logo for a defunct brand called RetroCola. It’s all neon lights and 80s vibes. You can practically hear the synthwave just looking at it! Probably was too cool to last tbh. Anyone know the history behind this gem or is it too underground? #synthwave

THAT IS AWESOME!! The 80s were before my time but omg that era's styles were the best. RetroCola sounds super rad! Synthwave aesthetic is totally my jam! Makes me wish I could've tried it, bet it had a kickin' flavor to match that logo. Let's bring back RetroCola! #RetroRevival

Did some sleuthing guys. RetroCola was indeed a thing in the mid-80s, apparently a subsidiary of a larger beverage corp at the time. Their gambit was targeting the youth with arcades, neon, and lots of synth-heavy commercials. Managed to find a trademark filing date 1984, but the trail goes cold around '89. Classic case of right idea, wrong time? The 80s nostalgia boom now would've been perfect for them!

Oh man, RetroCola! That's a solid find! I think I remember seeing some old ads with this logo, had that whole vaporwave aesthetic before it was cool. From what I recall, RetroCola was a small-time player trying to compete with the big soda giants by hitting the nostalgia angle hard. The 80s style was a bid to stand out, too bad they didn't make it. Could've been a collector's goldmine!
