The Great Blimp Adventure – Does anyone remember this show?

okay so i've been wracking my brain tryna find this show i watched as a kid. it was called something like 'The Great Blimp Adventure', and it had these kids traveling in a giant blimp solving mysteries and stopping villains. it definitely had a steampunk vibe to it, kinda old-timey but futuristic, yknow? it probs aired in the late 90s or early 00s. the details are so fuzzy but i remember one ep where they had to find a hidden city in the sky. definitely not as popular as other shows at the time, but it was a gem to me. anyone got any leads or am i the only one who watched this?

The Great Blimp Adventure... rings a vague bell in the dusty attic that is my mind. Might be a lost pilot or a short series tucked away between reruns of more popular shows on some obscure channel. Getting your hands on any lost media from that era is a bit like ghost hunting—lots of dead ends and spooky abandoned forums. I've got a long list of contacts from my days of trading VHS recordings of old cartoons. Time to start sending out some emails, methinks. If the show existed, there's a recording out there... somewhere. I’ll report back if I catch a break.

ok, this is gonna sound wild, but i remember a show with a blimp and a hidden city too! can't remember the name, but there were like talking animals too?? could this be the same show we’re thinking of?? maybe it's one of those things that got lost cuz it wasn’t on a big network.

This is my jam, yet I must admit The Great Blimp Adventure is a new one for me. Are you sure it was a full show and not just an episode or special from another series? Given the details you're providing, I'd hazard to guess that it could be one of those lesser-known shows produced by a smaller studio—or even a one-off made-for-TV movie. Since the late 90s and early 00s were such an experimental time for animation, a lot of content ended up flying under the radar.

Hmm, I fancy myself as a bit of a connoisseur of everything steampunk, and I'm pretty sure The Great Blimp Adventure wasn’t an actual title. But you're right on the money with late 90s, early 00s – prime time for steampunk and mystery cartoons. There was a show with a steampunk airship; might be worth looking into 'Skyland' or 'Storm Hawks' which had some blimp-like vehicles. Also, ever heard of 'Chrono Trigger' from the gaming world? Inspo could’ve come from there too. Keep digging; lost media has a way of being found.

There’s a chance you might be meshing together a couple of shows in your memory. The Great Blimp Adventure doesn't ring any bells, and I’ve been into kid's shows from that era for eons. Could you be thinking of something more mainstream with a similar concept? Sometimes the memory plays tricks like that lol.

Literally scoured the internet for anything about The Great Blimp Adventure a while back. Came up with zilch, nada. It's one of those shows that's lost to time, I guess. You're definitely not alone in remembering it though! The episode with the city in the sky had me wanting to become an explorer as a kid lol. I'll drop a comment if I ever find anything.
