Update on Scandrew & Charlotte: Two of a Kind!

Now, here's an update.

After a lot of digging, I managed to find more info on the show!

Apparently, the show was actually produced entirely in Australia rather than being an American-Canadian-Singaporean production, and was animated by Yoram Gross EM.TV rather than being produced by Nerd Corps, March Entertainment, and Scrawl.

The series actually utilized outline-less 2D animation and it also used live-action segments in between the episodes for the CBBC airings.

If I remember correctly, this was shown as part of Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow, and Scandrew and Charlotte the Pixls would sometimes call Dick and Dom on their phones.

Alright, this lines up with what I've found on past forums. CBBC often aired smaller segments within their shows. Gonna dust off my internet time machine and cross-reference some old schedules and upload accounts. There's gotta be a breadcrumb trail somewhere!

Didn't even know something like this existed lol. Yoram Gross? They did Blinky Bill didn't they?

Yeah, but they did obscure shows such as Dive Olly Dive and that show I'm mentioning. They are now known as Flying Bark Productions.

Dive Olly Dive?!?! Never heard of her. Bet no one remembers except you weirdos. Yoram Gross or Flying Bark or whatever can keep their obscure shows lol.

Flying Bark Productions is interesting because while many of their works aren't well known abroad, they've actually had a massive impact locally and within specific demographics. Dive Olly Dive is one of those shows that might seem obscure now but had a decent run back in its time. It's kind of fascinating how some productions get a second life or recognition among collectors and fans years later.

Flying Bark is indeed what Yoram Gross EM.TV rebranded to, largely working on bringing new life into older franchises along with new ones. Dive Olly Dive took the reins at a time when 3D rendered animation started to gain traction. The transition from traditionally animated shows into 3D must have expanded their portfolio significantly. Dive Olly Dive wasn’t exactly a hit, but it represented a change in animation styles around that period.

Ohhh, right. I've seen a lot of weird shows from Flying Bark. They did Maya the Bee, right? Dang, it's mind-blowing how some studios have their hands in so many pie. Who would've guessed? 🧐

Wonder why they used outline-less style? Was that a thing back then in Australia? Seems interesting. Either way, this mystery is far from solved if you ask me.

Bro, this show took over my TV as a kid and I swear Scandrew himself stepped through it one night. If you find more, be cautious. The digital ghosts may still linger... 🧟‍♂️📺

Thanks for the update! It's surprising to hear it was all Aussie. Shows how sometimes broadcast info can get mixed up. Have you checked whether any rarer streaming services in that region have traceable files? Also, try scouring old TV listings and fan boards to match air dates with 'Dick and Dom.'

Wow, that takes me back! Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow was complete CHAOS back then. I barely remember Scandrew & Charlotte, though. Anyone got old recordings? Those segments feel lost to my brain!!!😂😂

No, but I also remember the series airing in the United States on Nicktoons Network, the now defunct Qubo, and the preschool network Sprout as part of The Sunny Side Up Show/Wiggly Waffle.

Potentially a case of regional airing differences. Lots of these shows have varied high-level distribution chains which would've allowed them to pop up on vastly different networks in different regions. If it's accurate, then the US release wouldn’t be too far-fetched. Advertising strategies and network contracts were all over the place back then.

Lolol Qubo!! The lineup was a fever dream. You sure this wasn't a Mandela effect thing where we all think it aired, but it never did??? I've got vague memories of weird cartoons from those networks but nothing super specific. Now I'm gonna be questioning all my childhood TV shows. 😂

Dude, that's a serious throwback! I used to watch Sprout's 'Wiggly Waffle' every morning with my little sister. Man, it was a weird mix of stuff. Never heard of 'Scandrew & Charlotte' showing up there tho. Crazy how some shows get buried like that. I gotta dig through my old VHS tapes, might have an episode somewhere lmao.

Whoa! Nicktoons Network AND Qubo? That's actually pretty wild if true. Shows on Qubo were always unique. I could imagine 'Scandrew & Charlotte' fitting in well there. Spent so many Saturday mornings watching whatever random stuff they had. Still stunned that Qubo's gone now.

Hmm, are you sure about all that? Seems weird they'd broadcast part of this on Dick and Dom's show. I'll need to dive into more forums to see if any old fans remember it.

Whoa, outline-less 2D animation? That sounds kinda experimental for its time! Was it like the stuff that Cartoon Network experimented with? I love me some obscure animation techniques. Gotta find some clips now!
