I recently came across some sketches and storyboards for a Scooby-Doo spin-off called 'Shaggy & Scooby: Mysteries Incorporated' from the early '80s. It seems like it never made it past pre-production. Anyone got details on why it was never greenlit?

Yeah, I'm familiar with this. Hanna-Barbera pitched a lot of shows that never got past the concept stage. Often it was due to budget constraints and network interest. My guess is it didn't align with the trends kids wanted at the time. They were shifting focus to the Smurfs and Snorks then.

Interesting find! From what I've gathered, there were a few attempts at spin-offs around that era, but most didn't get funding. 'Shaggy & Scooby: Mysteries Incorporated' likely fell through because Hanna-Barbera was focusing on other projects.
