"Sonic the Hedgehog: Danger Zone"

So, back on April 1, 2019, Sega and Sonic Team made a music video which the name is the same as the post's title.

The music video featured a song called "Danger Zone", which was an original song created by the executive producers of Sonic Generations. The song was also made on the same year and date this music video was released, and only 1 month was taken for this song to be finished, with a successful result.

The music video featured live action characters and a man in a Sonic mascot costume doing heavy metal music in numerous places. When I watched it I remember seeing a scene where the characters played the song at an abandoned construction site and at a skate park.

The video was meant to be an April Fools' joke, and was deleted a day after its' upload by Sega themselves.

Sadly, even though the video received 230,000,000 views before its deletion, it's lost forever.

idk, this sounds like one of those too-good-to-be-true stories. Sega, heavy metal mascot, deleted video? Got any proof it ever existed? Not buying this without some solid evidence.

dude that video was the highlight of my year! I watched it like 20 times, then boom, gone. Literal chills when they rocked that construction site. Sega's biggest prank was depriving us of that banger forever 😭

Fellow lost media aficionados, I understand the pain of this loss. As an archivist, I can't stress enough the importance of digital preservation, even for what might seem like fleeting April Fools' content. This should be a serious wake-up call. If anyone finds themselves in possession of similar media, please consider contributing to archival efforts. It's our duty to preserve every facet of digital culture, no matter how insignificant it may seem at the time.

That video was a work of art, a masterpiece that deserved to be in the Louvre of the internet. The mix of live action and the Sonic mascot was so bizarre yet brilliant. My heart still aches when I remember the guitar riff and Sonic's headbanging. Why didn't I rip the video when I had the chance?!

lol, imagine making a music video as an April Fools' joke and it gets 230M views. Who even does that? And then deletes it?? Epic fail Sega, should've kept it up, could've been the next Rickroll.

Is there really NOBODY who downloaded it? 230 million views and no one thought 'maybe I should save this'? That's crazyyy 😭

It's truly astonishing that a video with such a high viewership vanished without a trace. In my experience, nothing truly disappears on the internet. We've seen cases where media thought to be lost forever turns up years later, sourced from private collections or old hard drives. Never lose hope; keep an eye on forums and archive sites. Someone out there might just be sitting on this gem without even realizing it.

Man, I remember seeing that video before it got taken down. It was wild, like nothing I'd ever expected from Sonic. The live-action metal vibe was so unlike Sega's usual style, but honestly, it was pretty cool. Wish someone had saved it.
