Mario Artist is an obscure franchise in the Super Mario game series that only consists of 4 games, which are similar to that of Mario Paint, and consists of Paint Studio, Talent Studio, Communication Kit, and Polygon Studio.
But little does anyone know that there were actually 4 other games produced, that got the ax before it even saw the light of day.
These games are: Game Maker, Graphical Message Maker, Sound Maker, and Video Jockey Maker.
Game Maker was supposed to be a game where you could build your own games (like Super Mario Maker).
Graphical Message Maker was supposed to be a game for creating animated greeting cards.
Sound Maker was supposed to be a game where you could create or manipulate sounds or music.
And Video Jockey Maker was supposed to be a game where you could make videos with dialogue.
Sadly, none of the builds of those 4 cancelled games have been resurfaced, and those 4 cancelled games have no gameplay footage or screenshots. Keep in mind that one day, we may find the builds.

Mario Artist series was way ahead of its time, giving creative tools to the players. Super sad to learn that Game Maker got shelved; this could've led to a surge of indie devs even sooner. Graphical Message Maker also seems like it could've been a cool way to send unique messages online. If anyone uncovers a prototype or footage of these, it'll be a huge moment for gaming history buffs!

Sound Maker would have been SO cool! Imagine the music we could've been making if Nintendo hadn't canned it. Maybe someone out there has a lead on these lost projects, it’s wild to think about what hidden gems are sitting in some collector's basement right now.

omg Mario Artist was so underrated, really wish we could've seen Game Maker, feels like it would've been mindblowing back in the day to create your own games... Resurfacing this would be epic. Crossing fingers someone finds a dev kit with these goodies out there.
