This reminds me of Candle Cove. If it is real.

I get serious Candle Cove vibes too, but it sounds like you might be thinking of something real. Could it have been something local or regional, like a public access show? There's also this weird Canadian show from the late 80s called 'Read All About It' that had creepy puppet segments. Maybe check there?

Candle Cove was actually a fictional show created in an online creepypasta, I think by Kris Straub. There are no actual episodes but it captured that eerie essence you're mentioning. Could be what you’re thinking of if it meshed with real memories!

OH SNAP!!! That show used to run after the Saturday morning cartoons block on Channel 6. It was bizarre but weirdly engaging, right? Felt like I was the only one who remembered it. Had a puppet that looked like a sun with baby doll arms. I've asked about it in other threads but no one seems to remember. Lost media gold for sure!

I'm on the hunt now. Anything more to go on? Colors, names, anything? Every detail can help us track it down. Was probably a local thing that never made it big, could explain the scarcity. I'll check some archives and reach out to some collectors I know who are into this kind of stuff.

Oh yeah, pretty sure you're talking about 'Whispering Shadows'. It was a local broadcast in a few cities, super low budget and yes, super creepy. Puppets were like half broken and the sets were all surreal. I remember this one character, Mr. Fright, looked like a puppet from an HP Lovecraft story! They talked about fears to help kids deal, but instead of helping, gave me nightmares for weeks lol. No luck finding it myself, might be that no tapes survived. The '80s were wild, my friend.
