What if The Violet Echoes were part of some underground movement that got silenced?! Sounds like a cover-up to me. Jokes aside, maybe check darknet or ask around conspiracy forums. You'd be surprised what kind of lost media creeps up in those places.

I pride myself on knowing obscure bands, but 'The Violet Echoes' don't ring any bells. What era are we talking – late 80s, early 90s? Could be they were part of a local live scene and didn't produce much recorded work. If you get a chance, ask your dad for more deets - like the city where he copped the tape, or how he discovered the band. We might get lucky and find an old forum or archived gig poster mentioning them!

not to be that guy but are u sure that's the name? could be a local band that never made it to the big time. lots of those have little to no digital footprint, especially pre-internet era stuff. might help to give us more to go on, like where ur dad got the cassette or any other song titles.

Hey, I'm REALLY into lost bands and obscure music. Never heard of The Violet Echoes but that just makes it more exciting. Any chance you remember any lyrics or the label? Or maybe a venue they played at? Any small detail could help track down some of their work or old merch. I’m on the hunt now!

OMG 'The Violet Echoes'! That's a deep cut, they were so underrated. Pretty sure they were local to the Pacific Northwest, never went big mainstream. Shame, coz 'Whispers in the Alley' was a bop! I’ll dig around my old collections to see if I saved anything, but no promises. These indie bands often vanished without leaving much trace...
