Can't find this song, been humming for years!

It's driving me insane! All I've got is this melody stuck in my head and some garbled lyrics. I think it's from an early 2000s indie band. Chorus goes like 'and we rise, like flames in the night' or something. No luck on Shazam. HEEEEELP!

Man, I totally get your frustration. There's this one track I've been trying to find for ages, too. Early 2000s was such a great era for indie music, but a lot of it wasn't digitized properly which makes it so tough to track down today. Do you remember if it was from a band with any radio play or was it more underground?

It's possible you're misremembering the lyrics which is why it's so hard to find. Maybe try more variations of the words you think you know or focus on humming it to people who were into the indie scene at the time. Networks of old fans could help.

The lyrics 'and we rise, like flames in the night' don't come up in any of the usual databases. It could be a local band that didn't get wide recognition. Sometimes checking out old music blogs or forums can turn up something. Have you tried making a recording of yourself humming and posting it to see if it rings a bell for anyone?

Ooooh I love a challenge! Can you remember any other phrases from the song or anything about the band? Was it male or female vocals? Any specific instruments that stood out? Every little detail could help. I'm on a mission now, let's find this tune!

Sounds vaguely familiar. Have you tried looking through indie band compilations on YouTube? Sometimes underrated bands get featured there. You might just strike gold if someone put together a playlist of early 2000 indie classics!
