i cannot stop thinking about that one lost episode of Sailor Moon that was supposed to be super dark and involved some kinda mature themes not suitable for the show's demographic. like i read somewhere that it never got past the storyboard phase and was never animated? it just makes NO sense, because Sailor Moon dealt with some heavy stuff already. if anyone has more info pls pls share!!!

Hey, I work in animation and can tell you studios scrap ideas all the time. Sailor Moon pushing the envelope wouldn't surprise me, but stuff that doesn't align with the show's tone usually gets dropped quick during planning. Storyboards can be made and trashed within days. Chances of these 'lost storyboards' surfacing after all this time? Pretty slim, unless someone from the inside kept them.

I remember speculation about something like this back in the day. Some said it had to do with the final fight with the Dark Kingdom, and it was way too grim. The producers wanted to keep the show more accessible. But honestly, it's been years, and no smoking gun has been found. Might just be one of those things fans wish existed.

I've been hunting lost media for awhile now, especially anime, and Sailor Moon is a goldmine of rumors. What I've gathered about this 'lost episode' is mostly hearsay, no tangible proof. The closest we got is a supposedly leaked script outline, but it turned out to be fan-made. I'd say keep an eye out on auction sites for storyboards or scripts—you never know what could show up.

That rumored 'lost episode' has been the subject of speculation for years. It's true that Sailor Moon tackled some mature themes, but there's little concrete evidence that such an episode with 'unsuitable' content ever made it to the storyboard phase. Most likely, this is an urban legend fueled by the show's deeper narrative arcs. If anyone did have verifiable info, it would've been big news in the anime community. Don't get your hopes up for finding this 'holy grail' of lost media.
