Lost Viacom Channels

Here are some lost defunct Viacom channels that must be found:

  1. MTV Chi - Channel broadcasting Chinese music.
  2. MTV Desi - Channel broadcasting Desi music.
  3. Viacom Blink! - Entertainment channel. Reality shows and lifestyle.
  4. Comedy Central Kids - Defunct morning children's channel timesharing with Comedy Central. Used to broadcast children's cartoons, and I remember my brother being a presenter for this channel. Lasted during the mid 2000s, when Comedy Central was still known as Paramount Comedy.

I'll believe it when I see it. So much of the early 2000s digital broadcasts are like smoke - here one second and gone the next. Without physical copies, it’s a race against time and dead links.

There's gotta be a way to recover these channels. Maybe reaching out to ex-employees or hitting up trading circles? I'll put out some feelers and see if any old promo material or recordings pop up. No promises, but I've seen wonders happen in this community!

You've got to remember though, a lot of what we consider 'lost' isn't really lost. It's in a vault somewhere or in private collections. Comedy Central Kids is a goldmine for someone who taped their TV in the 2000s. Wish I had the foresight back then, imagine the nostalgia trips we could have if someone digitized that stuff.

Comedy Central Kids, really? Pretty sure my childhood brain just edited that channel out of memory, it was so bad!

Man, MTV Desi was my jam! It was so cool to see desi artists get the exposure they deserved. Still have a bunch of those performances on an old hard drive somewhere... I should go dig that up. Lost media, here we come!

Viacom Blink! - now that’s a deep cut. Reality shows back then had a certain charm to them that you just don’t get nowadays. Their production was raw and less scripted. My sis recorded a few shows on VHS, wonder if they’d count as lost media now…

MTV Chi was such a unique concept, wasn't it? I remember stumbling upon it late at night and being completely fascinated by the music videos, even though I didn't understand a word. It's a shame so much of that content is basically wiped out now. Would love to see some of that again for the memories.
