80's Punk Concert Film

newbie here, heard there’s this legendary concert film from an 80’s punk band that kinda just...vanished? all record homes say they never had it. looks like it’s a dead end? any leads?

Okay, so I heard about something like this a while back, pretty sure it was a Black Flag show that was filmed by a local indie director or something? Rumor has it the film was confiscated by cops? I've been trying to track down anything from that era, maybe we can share notes and see if we can uncover anything. I'll DM you!

Things weren’t cataloged well back in the day, especially not punk records. I’ll keep an eye out at flea markets and garage sales. You might wanna do the same, never know what you’ll stumble upon.

Man, I remember hearing about lost tapes and legends of bootlegged shows. There might not be a digital trace, but I swear I heard my uncle talk about a lost punk film. He's still got a bunch of old cassettes and reels in his attic. Maybe it’s worth asking older relatives if they were into the scene?

I've been collecting punk concert footage for years, and I can tell ya, a lot of stuff from the 80s either got damaged or just wasn’t kept. Bands and fans didn’t think about preserving history. Could you provide more details? Name of the band, date of the concert, venue? These details can help dig up leads. There are private collectors who might have what you’re looking for.

lol, good luck finding ghosts. maybe you can summon it with a vinyl record and a mohawk as a tribute. 😂

A vanishing punk concert film sounds epic, which band was it for? There’s always a chance someone digitized it before it got lost. Local scenes might still talk about it too, maybe reach out to punk groups from that era on social media?

Hey, stuff like this happens a lot in the punk scene. Tapes get passed around, lost, or destroyed. But, don't lose hope. Check out local record stores, sometimes they got old stock that’s not listed. Also, hit up forums like VinylCollective or Discogs, you never know who might have a copy lying around!
