Sup guys, just hit the JACKPOT - snagged a BETA cartridge of 'Pixel Quest' for like.. 5 bucks! The seller had no clue what it was. Can't wait to see the differences from the final version. Fingers crossed it boots up on the old console. Will keep y'all updated with screenshots once I get it running. This is why I never skip garage sales, hidden gems everywhere I’m telling ya!

Sooo cool! See if there’s any weird glitches or if those notorious cut levels are accessible. The obscure stuff is always what gets me going, anything that whiffs of being a leftover or a weird piece of dev history. The stories behind these forgotten betas are often as intriguing as the games themselves.

Hey, are you planning to dump the ROM? The community could really benefit from having a copy of the beta to archive. These old versions can show a lot about the development process and it's kinda important for preservation. Plus I'd love to play around with it in an emulator.

Nice, 'Pixel Quest' was underrated IMO. The music alone in the final game was top notch. Hearing those sweet betas tracks- if they're different, would be a game music fan's treasure. You've got your hands on some history there, treat it with respect!

Not to burst your bubble dude, but be careful about fakes. Lot of those 'rare finds' can be repros with beta slapped on 'em to drive up the price. Crack it open and look at the board, verify them chip numbers. Gotta make sure it’s legit before you get too hyped.

5 bucks? Man, that's a steal. Make sure to dump the ROM carefully! These old betas are super fragile, lots of them have bit rot and might not survive multiple playthroughs. And when you're taking screenshots, document everything. Hell, if you find the right buyer, that cart might net you a couple hundred easy.

Holy moly, that's like striking retro gold! 'Pixel Quest' was my childhood jam. Watch out for any easter eggs or dev notes in that beta. If it's like some of the betas from back in the day, they might've left messages in the code or unused assets. Can't wait to see what you find!
