ok dont laugh, but when i was little i used to love this weird kids show. cant remember the name but it was about a bunch of animals living in a forest, one of them was a really wise owl. It was animated, but not like the flashy stuff today, more like watercolor? Anyone know which show I'm talking about??

'The Animals of Farthing Wood' could be what you're after. Here are a few key details: - It's a British animation based on a series of children’s books by Colin Dann.
The first episode aired on 6th January 1993.
The series followed the adventures of a group of animals who were forced to leave their homes in Farthing Wood because humans were building houses there.
The leader of the group was a fox named Fox and one main character was indeed a wise old owl, who was aptly named Owl.

Ah, I think I have the perfect memory for that. Sounds like you're describing 'The Animals of Farthing Wood.' Quite the show back in its day. The animation style was indeed reminiscent of a watercolor painting. The wise owl's name was Tawny Owl. This brings back so many good memories.

I'm almost certain you mean 'The Animals of Farthing Wood'. It matches all of your points: animals in a forest, wise owl, watercolor-esque animation. It's a British series from the 90s. Fun fact, it was one of the first kids' shows to actually deal with darker themes like death! Not your average Saturday morning cartoon for sure.

It's a little bit of a shot in the dark but I think you might be talking about 'The Animals of Farthing Wood’. It's a British animated series that started airing in the early 90s. It was based on the series of books by Colin Dann. The show was about a group of animals whose homes had been destroyed, and they were led to a nature reserve by a wise old owl. The animation had a watercolor-like art style.
