Hi guys, first time posting here. I've been tracking this long lost dub for years now - it's a reggae dub by Dread Scot, pre 70's stuff i believe. The track had a killer melodica lead coupled with Dread’s famous ‘echoes inna canyon’ FX. Any clue? Thanks in advance!

Mmmm, sounds like another hunt for the golden egg. What makes you so certain this dub exists, anyway mate? I've been a part of the London dub scene since its conception and I've never come across a Dread Scot track with a melodica lead. His style was more focused on the heavy bass n drum thing. The 'echoes inna canyon' FX, however, that's a Dread Scot signature. I'll believe it if I hear it.

Alright, let's see if I can help you out here. Dread Scot did have some obscure cuts that weren’t commercially released. I've got a couple mixtapes from the late 60's, one of them has a track with a melodica lead that could potentially be the one you’re looking for. Can you remember any specific chorus or lines from the song? That would help a lot more in narrowing it down. Also, do let me know if there are any more details you can provide about the FX used in the track.

Whoa dude, Dread Scot sounds like a pure gem from the golden era. I tend to have a soft spot for all pre-70's reggae dub. I've got a collection myself, but I'm afraid I don't have the one you're lookin' for. I'm familiar with the 'echoes inna canyon' FX though, total vibes! Now you've intrigued me, gonna do a deep dive soon. ✌️🔥
