Robot vacuums worth it?

Thinking about getting one of those robot vacuums...anyone got one? do they actually work or are they more like a novelty thing? don’t wanna drop $$$ if it can barely suck up crumbs lol

Here's a pro tip: look for one with a HEPA filter if you’ve got allergies. The difference is huge when it comes to air quality. And if you've got stairs, make sure it's got cliff sensors, unless you want a very expensive paperweight at the bottom of your staircase after its first run.

Been through a few models over the years and here's my take: The entry-level ones are trash; they get stuck everywhere and can't even handle a charging cable on the floor. If you invest in a higher-end model, make sure it has 'D' shape to get into the corners and multiple room mapping. And don't even bother if you've got shag carpets or very dark flooring - most robots just can't deal with those.

Love mine! It's like a pet that cleans after you instead of making messes. lol. Useful tip: map your house when it's super clean so the robot doesn’t get confused by stuff on the floor.

eh, they're okay. Don't expect miracles, especially if you have rugs with a pile. My robot vacuum kinda just glides over them without getting much. Great for hardwood and under furniture, though. Consider it a supplement but not a replacement for a real vac.

my cat freaked out first couple days but now she loves it, chases the thing around like a madman lol. it’s decent on pet hair and keeps litter from spreading. make sure u clean the brushes regularly, they jam if u slack off.

Honestly, they can be super useful especially if you're not big on vacuuming manually. Got a Roomba last year and haven't looked back. Runs daily, and my place has never been cleaner. Look for one with strong suction & smart mapping. That’s the real game changer!
