Anyone heard about the '90s Cartoon Network bumper with the dancing mascot?

ok so when I was a kid I swear I saw this crazy CN bumper where the mascot, right, he starts doing this mad dance and the tv colors go all wacko. It had some funky music too. But i've searched every corner of the net n nothing. nobody on any forum seems to remember. it's like it existed only for me lmao

do you think it might be a mix of memories? Like, could u b remembering a CN bumper but mixed with something else you saw like a music video or an ad? our brains are weird like that sometimes lol

Fascinating! I specialize in tracking down obscure media. Your description brings to mind several promotional shorts that used non-standard animation and experimental visuals, not meant for long term ad campaigns but rather short-term branding experiments. The 'colors go all wacko' part could indicate a foray into either psychotropic patterns or perhaps the early digital effects being used at that time. Unfortunately, unless CN held onto that footage, your best bet is someone who may have a recording personally preserved. Might you recall any particular imagery or phrases that stood out?

Back in the '90s lots of channels had these off-the-wall bumpers. I remember Nickelodeon had a bunch of stuff too. CN definitely had its share of out-there interstitials. But this mascot thing doesn't really ring a bell. Without more details, it'll be tough to find anything since there's so much content to dig through. If you could remember even a part of the tune or a single visual, might help in getting somewhere with it. Keep us posted if you find it, sounds pretty cool!

Yo, serious CN retro junkie here. There was a whacky phase of CN bumpers in the late '90s, like '97-'99 period, heavily influenced by the whole zany & experimental pop culture back then. They played with their branding quite a bit. The mascot you're talking about—might be a one-off or a regional thing. Try hitting up the Lost Media Wiki or even throw a question to the CN official social media, sometimes interns dig up the archives for fun. And when all else fails, check out non-english speaking forums; some of those promos found a weird second life internationally.

Hey, I'm new here but I collect old VHS tapes and sometimes they have recordings of old TV broadcasts with commercials and stuff. I'll take a look through my collection and see if I find anything that matches your description. No promises, but I'll let you know! Fingers crossed 🤞
