It's critical for dog owners to work on their dog's recall and ensure they can control their pet without a leash before even considering letting them off. Until then, or unless you're in an off-leash area, keep them leashed. It's a matter of safety and respect.

It's madness, they act like everyone's gonna love being jumped on. Not cute when you've got your new clothes on and suddenly Fido decides you're his new best friend. And the barking, don't even get me started!

Let me play devil's advocate here. I get the whole leash thing, but parks are sometimes the ONLY place folks can let their fur babies really stretch out. Maybe we need more dog parks? Designated areas that are safe for off-leash fun could solve this.

i LOVE dogs but agree, they gotta be leashed. it’s for their safety too, not just ours. imagine if they ran off & got lost or smthn. plus, it’s the law in most places, right?

Totally with you on this. Last week I nearly tripped over a Beagle who was 'exploring' off-leash. Owners need to realize not all of us are dog people. Some are scared or allergic or both!
