Spent hours researching and perfecting a cheesecake recipe. Everything is going great until I open the cream cheese and it's MOLDY! Brand new, not expired, sealed, but moldy! And it's the only one I have. Stores are closed. Guests coming over in 2 hours. Explain to me how I'm supposed to serve dessert now?! This is why we can't have nice things.

Total bummer about the mold! Always go for a sniff test before adding ingredients – saved my cakes more times than I can count. For now, maybe see if you've got the stuff for a fruit crumble? Quick and usually ingredient flexible. And really, who doesn't love a warm crumble?

Don't panic. You've got this! Time to tap into your inner MacGyver. Whip up literally anything - you got flour, eggs, sugar? You can make a last minute batch of cookies or even pancakes. Serve 'em fancy and no one will guess it wasn't the plan. Good luck!

Ugh, that's the WORST. A cheesecake purist's nightmare... So, for damage control, there's a two-part approach. First, if you've got any kind of chocolate, melt it down, mix with a bit of coffee or liqueur if you've got it, and pour it into cups for a quick mousse. Second, contact the company afterwards – sometimes they compensate with a voucher or refund.

Oh man, that blows! But hey, if you got any other kind of cookies or biscuits, sugar, and maybe some butter, you can whip up a no-bake cheesecake base. Got any puddings or maybe fruit? Improvise a topping and turn it into a chilled dessert. Might not be the OG plan, but it could save the day!
