I saw a video of a man making a phone charger out of a lemon. I tried to make it, it didn't work. Just ruined my old charger I didn't use since 2015. This was from a YouTube channel called 5-Minute Crafts.
Their life hacks always never work.

Life hack expert here,
First of all, sorry for your bad experience.
Despite the name, a number of so-called 'life hacks' on the Internet are more like 'here's a novel but impractical way to do something'. Nature of social media, people click on extraordinary stuff, so creators tend to gravitate towards those ideas, even if they're not as practical.
As for the lemon-charger hack, it's based on a simple physics experiment that shows it's possible to generate a small amount of electricity from a lemon, metal nails and copper wires. But, it's more suited for an educational purpose rather than practicable use, as it only generates a tiny bit of voltage.
In conclusion, please take these life hacks with a grain of salt, and do some research before trying especially if it's something as critical as your phone charger.

Tech guy here. You can actually generate some electricity from a lemon, but it's not nearly enough to charge a phone. This is because electrical devices require a certain voltage to operate, and a single lemon can only provide about 0.7 volts. To actually charge a phone with lemons, you would need hundreds, maybe thousands of them. So, you're better off using a potato to power a small clock. :)
