Okay, I need to rant here for a bit. WHY, OH WHY, are PDFs such a headache to deal with? Oh you want to edit this document? Too bad, it's a PDF! Oh, you need to sign this and send it back? Hope you have Adobe or some fancy third-party app installed. And if you want to convert it back into a doc so you CAN edit it, good luck! You'll need to wrestle with the formatting for half an hour or so. Seriously, who invented these things, and can we put them on trial for pain and suffering?

The Portable Document Format (aka the PDF) was initially created by Adobe systems in the early '90s to present documents, including text formatting and images, in a manner independent of application software, hardware, and operating systems. While it faced some early criticisms around accessibility, it became widely adopted because it preserved the look of a document irrespective of what device it was being viewed on. Irony is that the same reason for its creation (preserving the look of the document) is the same reason it gives a hard time when you want to edit it. So, the struggle is indeed, quite real.

sigh This again... Look, you're not wrong. PDFs can be the bane of existence. But sometimes you've just gotta ducktape it together and soldier on. Lil' tip: Try doing your formatting in Word before converting into PDF. Might save some of that wrestling time.

While I feel your pain, I also think that there are some good apps and resources that can help! I've found Foxit PhantomPDF pretty decent for editing PDFs. Another notable one to try would be PDF Xchange Editor. A bit more user-friendly, and the free version itself has a ton of features. Also, never forget Google Drive. It can convert PDFs to Google Docs format, which you can then convert back to Word, hence preserving formatting. Might require some tinkering tho!

Lmao, putting the inventor of PDFs on trial might be harder than editing those darn things! Believe it or not, Adobe just wanted a universal format which worked across different software and hardware. It's kinda a 'don't shoot the messenger' thing. PDFs aren't inherently bad, they just got a lot of bad use cases. 😬
