My 5 y/o thinks he's a super villain

Last week, my kiddo decided he's the arch-nemesis of order. Started by 'freeing' all the pets in the neighborhood. I spent hours trying to catch Mrs. Robinson's parrot. He’s now planning a 'grand scheme' involving toothpaste and every door handle in the house. Tips on convincing him superheroes clean their rooms?

Why not teach him that even the best villains have to deal with consequences? Like no ice cream unless his lair is clean. Stick to your guns and good luck!

This could be a great opportunity! Create a quest for him. Only the most powerful supervillains can harness the power of the ‘Tidy Tornado’ spell to keep their evil lairs in check. Tell him he needs to master this power by practicing on his room. Plus, he gets XP and level-ups for every chore completed!

Just handcuff him to a mop and call him JanitorMan, the hero we need but don't deserve 💪😂

That's a tough one, but maybe you can convince him that the greatest villains have the most organized lairs? They always know where their evil plans and secret weapons (toys) are. Could help him relate cleaning his room to being a better villain, or whatever works in his world.

Pro tip: let him 'slip up' and discover your 'weakness' is seeing a sparkling clean room, mwahaha. Reverse psychology sometimes works on the lil masterminds. Worth a shot, right?

lol, you think that's bad? Wait till he's a teen. Enjoy the 'cute' villainy while it lasts.

This is hilarious and terrifying lol. My daughter went through a phase where she thought she could control weather... caused a mess with the garden hose inside! What I found helps is redirecting their imagination. Maybe get him a 'superhero' cleaning kit? Tell him heroes fight against the chaos of dirty rooms. Make it a game, like every piece of clothing he puts away defeats a minion of disorder.
