Lookin for dog-friendly hiking spots!

The weather's gettin nice and I wanna take my pupper on some adventure hikes. Anyone know good dog-friendly trails? Preferably ones with not too many ppl cuz my dog can get a bit anxious. TIA!

I’ve got an entire list! But yeah, keepin it low-key with anxious dogs is smart. Whisper Falls Trail is super under the radar; plus it's got a stream, so your pup can take a dip. Just double-check leash laws and always pack out what you pack in, including any pup poop - leave no trace, you know?

lol, dogs don’t hike, they sniff and pee on things. let ur dog pick the trail, it’ll probably lead u to the nearest fire hydrant 💦

Just started hiking with my dog too! Found a local state park that’s super chill. Most ppl stick to the main path, so if u venture on the back trails, u’ll have the place basically to yaselves. Hope u find a great spot!

You got to check out trails that aren’t listed in the top 10 for your area— those're usually less crowded. The AllTrails app lets u filter for dog-friendly hikes, and you can see recent reviews to gauge how busy they are. I use it all the time, it's a lifesaver. Also, make sure ur pupper’s recall is good if you’re letting them off leash, safety first!

Can totally relate to the anxious dog thing. I've found that going for hikes during off-peak times helps a lot. Also, local hiking groups can recommend some hidden gems that aren't well-known so there's less chance of running into people and stressing out the pupper.

Nothing beats hitting the trail with your furry friend! Cedar Woods Trail is amazing, pretty secluded and dogs love it. Look for trails that require permits; fewer people tend to go for those. Also, keep an eye on your pup’s paws if the trails are rocky!

It really depends on where you're located, but I've found that national forests tend to have less foot traffic than national parks, so maybe start there? Also, early mornings or weekdays are perfect for avoiding crowds. Happy trails!

Ahhh hiking season, best time of the year! If you're near the Rockies, check out the Lonesome Lake Trail. I take my dog there in the mornings and it's pretty serene plus not much traffic. Remember to keep your pup leashed where it’s required though!
