Homemade Dog Treats: Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Biscuits!

Wanna spoil your furry friend with some homemade goodness? Try my go-to PB & Pumpkin Biscuit recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter
  • A dash of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Whisk together flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Add water as needed to help make the dough workable, but the dough should be dry and stiff.
  4. Roll the dough into a 1/2-inch-thick roll. Cut into shapes or just squares.
  5. Bake in preheated oven until hard, about 40 minutes.

Let `em cool and watch your doggo go nuts for these! Oh, and make sure peanut butter is Xylitol-free – stay safe, pupper lovers!

Imagine having time to bake dog treats. Must be nice, lol. But seriously, I might give this a whirl on the weekend. If they're a fail, I'll just mix it in their food bowl and watch them eat it anyway.

Nice one! Making these asap. Who even needs store-bought treats?

Protip: add a spoonful of flaxseed for an omega-3 boost or some parmesan cheese for those dogs that go gaga for a cheesy kick. I literally have a whole spreadsheet of treat variations I've tried. Love the base recipe, BTW!

Love that you're making homemade treats but please consider going grain-free! Grains can be problematic for some dogs. Maybe try a coconut flour or chickpea flour next batch?

Just made these and my little fluffers can't get enough! I tweaked the recipe a bit to suit my dog's diet and even made extra for my neighbor's dog. They're a hit!

While I appreciate the effort, homemade treats aren't always better. Commercial treats undergo rigorous testing. Folks, please ensure you're aware of canine nutrition basics before playing chef.

YASS! Peanut butter and pumpkin, a match made in heaven for dogs. Can't wait to test this out. Quick q though: any substitute for whole wheat flour? My dog has a sensitive tummy.

Oh, this recipe is fantastic! I tried something similar but added a bit of apple sauce for extra moisture. My pupper absolutely adores it. Thanks for sharing this, I'm always on the lookout for new treat ideas. Has anyone tried adding veggies like carrots or sweet potatoes?
