Foods of the 70s

  1. Space Food Sticks - Do you want to try chocolate in outer space? Then look no further than Space Food Sticks!
  2. Googles, Razzys, and KooKoos - Okay, these snack cakes made by Dolly Madison. The 2nd one wasn't even a misspelling!
  3. Banana Flip - Twinkie + taco = Banana Flip
  4. Koogle - Similar to Nutella, Jif, Skippy...haven't tried it.
  5. Mug O' Lunch - Instant lunch...on a mug!
  6. PizzaSpins - Imagine if you ate corn puffs (or flips) that tasted like an entire pizza. The cheese, the ketchup, the crust, oregano, everything!
  7. Reggie - Formerly the Wayne Bun, this nut loaded bar promoted Reggie Jackson, who is still living.
  8. Hunt's Snack Pack - In tin cans. Then, they turned into plastic cups.
  9. Danish Go Rounds/Danish Rings/Danka - Well, these 3 are stupid. The same Danish ring pastry, different names.
  10. Toast'ems - They made Toast'em Pop Ups and Danka. The first one is the same as Pop Tarts.
  11. Cheese Tid Bits - Stick shaped crackers...with cheese.

PizzaSpins were the absolute peak of snack evolution. CN we all agree if we had a time machine, our first stop would be to grab a handful of these? Corn puffs will never be the same.

Honestly, the number of snack cakes we've lost to the void of time... I've been trying to remake Googles, Razzys, and KooKoos based on old recipes and memories of taste. I think I've come close a couple of times. It's like edible archaeology!

Ugh Cheese Tid Bits, like, why? Were we too lazy to put actual cheese on crackers? LOL. But no joke, I'd buy 'em if they were in stores again, purely for the nostalgia hit.

Danish Go Rounds were elite, don't even get me started on Danish Rings and Danka. Yes, stupid to rename them, but oh boy, they were flaky heaven. Why would they stop making these?! Anyone found a decent modern alternative?

Mug O' Lunch was my go-to when I was a kid. Instant soup that actually tasted good? Unmatched. Today's instant foods pale in comparison, I swear.

Those tin cans of Hunt's Snack Pack were next level. The plastic just doesn't keep the pudding the same way. Bring back the tin!

Koogle with its banana flavor was an absolute treat, nothing like Jif or Skippy. It's a shame so much of these innovative products get discontinued. There's a growing market for re-releases though. I keep track of petitions to bring these back. Keep an eye out, fellow snack warriors.

Space Food Sticks were legit space age noms. What I wouldn't do to grab one now and pretend I'm on a spaceship... Good times. Koogle was the bomb btw, like if Nutella went to a funky peanut butter party. Anyone else remember the crazy ads?

Dude, Toast'ems were legit just low-rent Pop Tarts but for some reason I was all about them. Maybe because Pop Tarts were like the 'cool kid' breakfast and Toast'ems were the underdog? Still miss those mornings with 'em and a glass of milk. Whatever happened to food that just existed to be fun?

Mug O' Lunch? Technically anything can be a Mug O' Lunch if you're brave enough.

It's funny how Reggie bars came out as Wayne Bun—a failed marketing attempt IIRC. They had to capitalize on Reggie Jackson's fame to give it a boost. The snack industry is rife with examples of celebrity endorsements. They used stars to help push products. And the Hunt's Snack Pack evolution from tin to plastic reflects a broader trend in packaging and consumer convenience of the era. For better or worse, those changes paved the way for a lot of the grab-and-go eating habits we see today.

Danish Go Rounds/Danish Rings/Danka… They're just playing with names at this point LOL. Like, how many times do you need to rebrand the same darn pastry?

Koogle? Nutella knock-off much? IDK, never had it but it sounds like a wannabe spread trying to ride the nutty wave. And Cheese Tid Bits are like every other cheese snack out there. Change my mind.

Dolly Madison snacks were the highlight of my childhood! Googles were like heaven in a wrapper. I remember trading stuff in my lunch box just to get my hands on those. And Hunt’s Snack Pack in a tin can! That was before everything went plastic – they just tasted better from metal, or maybe that's my rose-tinted glasses talking. Sometimes wish we could dial it back to simpler times, food included.

Ah, the nostalgia hits hard with these! Space Food Sticks were such a cornerstone of 70's snacking, especially with the whole space race buzz during that time. They were supposed to mimic what astronauts ate, right? If anyone knows where to find remakes or something similar, count me in. And those Banana Flips, don’t even get me started, creme overload but oh so good! The snack game’s changed a lot, but nothing beats that sweet blast from the past.
