It's simple - modern controllers just can't beat the ole GameCube controller. The feel, the button layout, that satisfying trigger click... nothing compares. Why'd they ever change it? Preferences? Trends? Doesn't make sense. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, amirite?

There's something to be said about the design philosophy that went into the old GC controllers. But we're in an age where adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are becoming norm. The new features help with immersion in ways that just weren't possible back in GC days. Still, it's a great piece of hardware and definitely shaped what we expect from controllers!

It's not all about preferences or trends; ergonomics play a big role. GC controllers were comfy for many, but not all. Game design evolves, and the controllers need to match that. Also, don't forget about improvements in wireless tech and battery life that new controllers address.

Oh man I totally feel this. The GC controller is a thing of beauty. I think companies are just trying to innovate for the sake of it. Sometimes older designs just hit it right and should be left as is. No controller has come close for Smash.
