Hey all, just wondering if anyone feels the same about Dragon Ball GT being axed? Like yeah super was cool and everything, but come on! I wanted to see more of Goku in monkey form. Anyone else feels the same or am I the only one??

Personally, I miss the technology and sci-fi element in GT. I mean, remember the spaceship Goku, Pan, and Trunks travelled in? That was some cool stuff. Super's all about power-ups and divine battles, but GT had that old-school adventure vibe. Good times.

Finally! Someone who gets it! GT did have some rough spots, sure, but they took risks. Angel Goku was cool and all, but nothing beats the raw power of Oozaru Goku, man! They stripped down all that godly arrogance and made him primitive and beastly, just love it.

Yes, Dragon Ball GT's discontinuation has been a topic of debate amongst the fandom for quite some time now. While some critics argue against the content and plot direction of GT, others appreciate the unique path it took, especially Goku's Oozaru transformation.
In regard to this, it's important to analyze both the socio-political contexts of the series' production and the shifting narrative trends. In the early 90s, there was no denying the influence that the Western market had on anime in general, and consequently the shift in storytelling can be seen as a nod to changes in the fandom's taste.
The lore of the Saiyans and their primal transformation can be traced back to Saiyuki and the Monkey King, having its roots in Eastern folklore aspect that added depth to Goku's character in DB GT. This nostalgic homage was a stark contrast to the intergalactic combat-focused narrative that 'Super' encompassed, thus impacting fans differently.

I feel you man, I really do. GT had its own charm, you know? Seeing Goku transform into his primal Oozaru form was an interesting take. Sure, not everybody was a fan of GT's storyline but I think it deserved better. I guess we just gotta live with what we got. Here's to hoping that future series might bring back some of this nostalgic awesomeness!
