Keep your heads up!

I know a lot of us are struggling with projects that seem to never end, but hey, remember Duke Nukem Forever? That game was in development hell for 15 years and it actually released! Let’s not lose hope, folks. We might just be a few more tweaks away from our big breakthrough!

This! 💪 There are days I wanna smash my keyboard, but posts like these keep me going. It's all about that final push. We've got this, team! Our dreams aren't dead, they're just incubating!

Just remember: a delayed game eventually might be good, but a rushed game is forever bad. Unless it's patchable... then I guess we can fix it post-launch 😂 gotta love modern development cycles.

As much as I want to believe this, my 'breakthrough' feels about as likely as my kid cleaning their room without being asked. But hey, crazier things have happened...right? Right?! 😅

Btw, if we're doing a few more tweaks... What is the definition of 'a few'? Asking for a friend who definitely isn't me and definitely hasn't been 'tweaking' his game for the past 6 years...

15 years? Challenge accepted. I'm on year 10 of what was supposed to be a 3-month project. At this point, I expect to ship my code along with a retirement package for myself.

Yeah, Duke Nukem Forever came out but at what cost? I'm sitting here with code I wrote when I still thought PHP was the future. I appreciate the pep talk but man, I sure hope my project ages better than that game did...

Can't argue that DNF is the poster child for surviving development hell, but let's not forget the reception it had. It's a reminder that finishing a project is one thing, and delivering on expectations is another. Worth keeping in mind that time in development is no guarantee of success. Always aim for quality, not just completion. Balance is key.

Duke Nukem Forever is a wild ride of an example haha 😆 Really puts things into perspective. I've been grinding on my app for like 2 yrs now, hit a million roadblocks but this kinda optimism is exactly what I needed! Breakthrough, here I come... eventually...
