That moment when your dream project becomes a nightmare...

Started out with such high hopes - got a script, had interest from producers, even had a meeting with a somewhat-known actor. Then... silence. Funding fell through, producer ghosted, actor booked another gig. Worked on this for 4 years and now it's just another tale for this subreddit 😔

lol shoulda cast the actor as a ghost since that's what the producer turned into

Four years is tough, but don't see it as a waste. Every project... is a learning experience. Can you take what you've done and adapt it? A web series, a graphic novel, something to keep the spirit alive till you can get it off the ground again. Hang in there!

haha sounds about right. All that passion and for what? A story for reddit? Been there, dude. Took my 'masterpiece' and turned it into a YouTube short. Maybe try that while you figure out your next move?

Producers are all talk, no action. Welcome to my nightmare. Two words: crowdfunding campaign. You get total control, and if people like what they see, they'll fund it. Take matters into your own hands!

That's the biz for ya. Pro tip: always have multiple projects in the pipeline. That way if one falls through, you've got another iron in the fire. And never trust an actor's schedule till they're on set, in costume, and cameras are rolling.

Hey don't lose hope! I know that's cliche but seriously, most of the greatest films ever made went through development hell at some point. Maybe take this time to refine things. Sometimes a step back is a set up for a great comeback!

Welcome to the club. Hollywood's littered with 'almost happened' stories. Remember when del Toro almost did The Hobbit? Or Fincher's 20,000 Leagues? This town loves chewing up dreams and spitting them out.

Oh man, sorry to hear that. It's like you can see the finish line and then someone yanks it away. What's your next move? You gonna try to rework the script or pitch to other producers?
