Lay's vs the so-called 'Jo's: a review

Could 'Jo's' be the Lay's chips dupe we never asked for but secretly needed? Let's find out!

Taste: Alright, going in, I was skeptical. And while Jo's don't exactly rock my taste buds, they're pretty close to Lay's. Not exactly there, but close. Wouldn't be able to tell them apart in a blind taste test probably.

Variety: Here's where Jo's just dive off a cliff. They got the basic 'Original' and 'BBQ', but if you want something fancy like 'Limon' or 'Flamin' Hot', stick to Lay's; Jo's just can't keep up.

Price: Alright, Jo's win this round, hands down. Dollar for Dollar, Jo's give you more, and the taste isn't TOO far off. Great for parties or when you're on a chip binge.

Verdict: If you're not a chip connoisseur, and just need something to munch on while binge-watching Netflix, give Jo's a shot. You might be pleasantly surprised by our underdog chips!

No 'Flamin' Hot' option? That's a dealbreaker for me dude, nothing beats that spicy kick! But guess it would be fine for those not into the fiery stuff. Always good to know your cheap snack alternatives!

Jo's? Is that why I always knock over that stack of off-brand snacks in the aisle? Nevermind the taste, now I'll actually pick up a pack next time just for the guilt of always making a mess. Sorry Jo!

Haven't had the pleasure of trying Jo's yet, but based on this review, it seems like they might be worth a try. I've been known to go out of my way for a good off-brand snack. Already got some interesting notes on exotic rip-offs from various parts of the globe. Good to see more options cropping up stateside. Bummed about the lack of fancy flavors though. Appreciate the honest review!

Jo's have been a lifesaver for me tbh. With 3 kids who can polish off a bag of chips in no time, I needed a more economical option and Jo's hit the spot. Not going to win any gourmet taste tests but they make the kids happy and my wallet happier.

Jo's? Really? More like No's, amirite? Why would anyone go for an off-brand when they could have the real deal? This isn't even a contest. Lay's all the way, baby.

Interesting comparison, but I wish you would've included a bit on the nutritional side of things. How do Jo's stack up against Lay's in terms of calories or sodium? I'm also wondering about the ingredients list, any artificial stuff in there? Love a good chip off-brand find but gotta keep an eye on what I'm putting into my body.

I gotta agree with you there on Jo's. They're not half bad for an off-brand. Was pleasantly surprised when I first tried them out - honestly couldn't tell much difference from Lay's. The lack of variety is a bummer though. And I don't know about you but I kinda love me some Limon Lay's. Still, Jo's for price and quantity? Absolutely.
