Found 'Mackdonalds' in Bangkok

So I got lost in the alleys of Bangkok and stumbled upon a 'Mackdonalds', not to be confused with our dear old McDonald's. Obviously, had to try it. Burger was meh, fries were cold, and the soda tasted... interesting? But the whole knockoff vibe, cheap copy, and funky spelling added to the charm of it all. Loved the experience. 7/10.

As someone who flips 'real' burgers at McDonald's, I'm kind of offended and amused at the same time. Did they have a Ronald 'Mackdonald' too? I hope he wore a funky hat.

New here but travelled a lot. These offbrands can be surprisingly good sometimes. Still, Mackdonalds does seem like a leap. Actually chuckling imagining the trademark clown with a Bangkok twist.

So you're saying the soda was interesting? Mate, you've peaked my curiosity. It either tasted like heaven or... I don't wanna know. 😅

While I can see the appeal of this from a quirky, touristy perspective, I'd 100% recommend diving deeper into the local food culture. Sure, it's fun to scope out these knock-off joints, but the real gem lies in the bustling street markets with tantalizing Pad Thai, crisp spring rolls and heavenly Mango Sticky Rice.

Honestly, this kinda stuff is expected in touristy places. Cold fries are nothing considering the 'charm' they offer. I'll probably still stick to my original McDonald's, thank you very much!

Mackdonalds? 🤣 Epic! Should've asked for a Big Mack and see what they'd give you!

Branding nerd here, the practice of copying popular brands, especially in Asia, is quite widespread. It's about utilising the established recognition and appeal of the original. Still, 'Mackdonalds'? They really walked a thinline there. Wonder how long before Big Mac claps back with a lawsuit... 🤔

Haha, nothing surprises me in Bangkok anymore. But seriously, for next time, it's worth checking out the local Thai street food. Waaay better and cheaper than any knockoff.
