A comprehensive review of Banana Boat’s cousin, Pineapple Raft

Time to analyze our latest find, Pineapple Raft - a blatant Banana Boat ripoff.

Firstly, the package design. They've cleverly opted for a strikingly similar color scheme as Banana Boat, with just enough shade difference to dodge any lawsuits. The font choice is almost the same, only they went horizontal instead of the tilted presentation Banana Boat uses.

Now, product performance. The Pineapple Raft sunscreen lotion offers an SPF 30 protection, not as effective as Banana Boat’s SPF 50+. It's a bit greasier than its counterpart, but doesn't leave as much of a white tint, which is a plus for any skincare conscious user.

Most noticeably, the scent. No points for guessing, it's pineapple. Surprisingly, it's not nauseatingly sweet, but rather subtle and it fades rather quickly.

Price-wise, it's cheaper, making it a tantalizing option for those looking to save some coins.

In conclusion, Pineapple Raft is cheaper and feels cheaper. It's okay for the price, but if you can afford to stretch your budget I'd advise you to stick to the OG Banana Boat.

Dunno bout you guys but Pineapple Raft doesn't sound half bad. I mean, what are you guys expecting from a cheaper brand – gold? Get real, peeps! 😂

Meh, in a pinch, it'll do. Reminds me of what you'd buy in a budget holiday resort when you've forgotten your decent sunscreen at home. You know it's not great, but it's better than nothing.

Big sunscreen junkie here.

Packaging - Smart on their part, mimicking a popular brand's color scheme to attract consumers. But, it's not all about looking good on the store shelf!

Performance - SPF coverage should be higher. Remember, SPF 30 only blocks about 97% of UVB rays, and SPF 50+ blocks about 98%. But, it's not just about the number, it's about how often you reapply.

Feel & Application - If it feels greasy, chances are people won't reapply as often as they should. Non-whitening is a plus though.

Scent - The subtle pineapple scent sounds good. Won't have to worry about attracting bugs, especially if it fades fast!

Price - This is where they win. But, people need to remember: sunscreen is not a product where you should be overly frugal!

Conclusion - It's a pass for me. I'd rather invest a little more and have trust in my skin protection.

Why buy cheap rip-offs when you can get something that works? If it's about saving a few bucks, think about the skin damage you could potentially be dealing with. Might cost ya a lot more in the long run. No, thanks! I'll stick with Banana Boat.

Personally, I'm always looking for cheaper alternatives, so I gave Pineapple Raft a shot. Sure, it's not the best, but for the price, it's pretty much expected. As someone who doesn't like the white tint most sunscreens leave, it achually worked great for me!
