Hey y’all, bet you've heard of the notorious Wolf Cola. C'mon, we've all seen it sitting lonely on the bottom of the soda shelves. A so-called alternative to Pepsi, it's the classic knock-off tale we love to hate. Well, here's a detailed account of my experience with it.
Wolf Cola: First Impressions: Y'know how Pepsi has that inviting, shiny, blue can? Yeah, Wolf Cola missed the memo. The can looks like it was designed in Paint: a wolf howling at an (obviously) red moon with a cheesy catchphrase - 'Get Your Howl On!' Like seriously, what?
Cracking Open: The initial smell is not Pepsi-ish at all. More like cringing at cough syrup. Ugh.
The Taste Test: Let's dive in, shall we? First sip...it’s not Pepsi, that’s for sure. Imagine carbonated water with just a HINT of cola flavor and a weird aftertaste of, what's that, licorice?
After Effects: You'll burp in flavors you didn't sign up for. But hey, at least it's caffeine-free?
Overall: Sure, it’s not great. But for a buck a can, what was I expecting? Goes to show, you can't have it both ways, folks. Good price, but not-so-good cola. Keep it real and stick to Pepsi next time. Let's see what other treasures the /r/crappyoffbrands has to offer!

Interesting take on the taste profile. The 'cough syrup' aroma could be due to certain esters or compounds used in manufacturing the drink. The licorice after taste could come from Anise or even Star Anise used as flavoring agents. If it's really that bad though, might have some balance issues between the sweetness, acidity, and carbonation. Wonder if they have a quality control department?
