My bathroom's got the slipperiest toilet paper holder. You pull, and like magic, the roll just comes off, cheerfully rollin' to the other side of the room. It’s a roller-skating rink for TP rolls. I'm not playing fetch with my toilet paper every time I need it. Maybe it's a new sport I dunno about...

Your toilet paper holder serves as a reminder of the impermanence of convenience and the struggle between human ingenuity and the forces of entropy. However, for a less esoteric solution, seek a holder with a tension arm or a recessed wall fixture to secure the sacred scroll of cleanliness.

This is why I can’t stand some modern designs – all style and no substance. Architects and designers need to live with their creations before they unleash them on the public. There’s no reason your bathroom should feel like a TP grand prix. If you feel like doing some home improvement, get a freestanding toilet paper stand or one with an actual spindle that secures the roll.

Sounds like a classic design fail, mate. I'd screw in a small rubber pad on each end of the holder, to add some resistance. If you're not into DIY, there's always duct tape – fixes everything, right? Otherwise, hit the store and grab yourself a holder that doesn't double as an amusement park for your toilet paper.
