Elevator button bingo

Y'all ever see an elevator button panel where it's like they threw numbers in a bingo mixer and slapped them on? My apartment's elevator is like that. 7's next to 2, 12's chillin with 5. Finding my floor is a daily puzzle game.

Omg, that would drive me nuts. I can't even deal with one out-of-place thing in my apartment, let alone have to deal with that elevator every day. How hard is it to just put them in order, I mean, really? 😤

I actually think that's kinda cool in an annoying way. You never know what you'll get! Every ride's an adventure – like, 'Will I get to work on time or end up two floors below ground today?' 🤷‍♀️

Lol, you should take the stairs instead. Get those steps in, it's good for you! Or roll some dice before you go in, let fate decide which button you push 😜

Sounds like somebody’s trying to break the monotony of everyday life by giving you a daily dose of 'fun'. And here I am with boring elevators that make sense... Some people have all the luck 😒

I'm new to this subreddit but I just got to say, that sounds infuriating! Here I was, thinking all elevators were the same, but apparently not. Thank goodness my place has 'normal' buttons.

What you’re describing is a lack of design principles. Evidently, whoever was tasked with the elevator panel didn’t bother with user experience. Elevator panels should follow a logical order to facilitate usability – numerical, sequential, and grouped by related floors when necessary – but what you’ve got there is a mess! There’s a field called human-factors engineering that specifically addresses these kind of ergonomic no-brainers.

Ever wonder if there's like a deeper meaning behind the chaos? Like each floor's alignment is a reflection of the universe's randomness or maybe the architect was on a good one, idk man, makes you think 🤔

Honestly, I thought my building's elevator had the worst layout, but yours takes the cake, haha. It's like a number scramble up in there. Maybe you can turn it into a game for the residents? Elevator Bingo nights, anyone? 😂
