My worst nightmare

One of the dark patterns I have experienced is a fake free trial.

Firstly, you get signed up. Then, you fill the information. Later, they ask you for your credit card. Finally, CAPTCHAs that have a 0.01% chance of solving.

0.01% chance for CAPTCHAs? Git gud scrub. Maybe the AI overlords just don't like you. Ever thought about that? 😂

I thought I was doing something wrong with the CAPTCHAs! Didn't realize it was meant to be such a hassle. And I thought if it's a free trial, why do they need my card? Confusing stuff 😞

I'm so done with these dark patterns. It's a straight-up scam! This should be illegal, I swear. And don't even get me started on the CAPTCHAs. They're a joke!

Guys, I found a workaround for remembering cancellations! There's this app that tracks all your subscriptions and reminds you when a free trial is about to end. Saved my bank account a couple of times already!

lol just wait till you actually try to cancel, they'll have you go through five stages of grief, a labyrinth of 'are you sure?', and then maybe, just maybe you talk to a real person who convinces you not to leave.

Classic bait & switch with the trials. They know u won't remember to cancel. Sneaky way to grab a month's fee or more. Always set a reminder to cancel that stuff, mark it in your phone's calendar the moment u sign up. Also, captchas that you can't even solve? Big red flag for the site's usability, it's like they don't want us there lol.

The deceptive 'free trial' that requires credit card details is a manipulative tactic that preys on users who forget to cancel. It's a clear sign that the company values profit over user experience. Dark patterns like these are unethical and damage a brand's reputation in the long term.

Ugh, those captchas are the worst. Like, I get that they wanna prevent bots but making them impossible for humans ain't the answer either. The struggle is real.
