Elevator Panel straight from a Nightmare

Got into an elevator today, and the button panel was like a toddler's first number drawing. Numbers all over the place, AND some braille was totally mismatched. I mean, how do you mess up the order from 1 to 10, its literally the first thing we all learn???

Bet it was designed by committee. Everyone had their own 'brilliant' idea, and this is the Frankenstein’s monster they ended up with. It’s a masterpiece of dysfunction.

I can't even imagine the frustration. Panels should have a logical order; it’s basic functionality. It’s an elevator, not a riddle from the Sphinx. I'd have to take the stairs every day, and I live on the 14th floor!

First post here, had to cuz this is just too much lol. Can someone explain how this even happens? Like, is there NO review process?

Sounds like the best way to cure decision paralysis. Don’t know which floor to go to? Let fate decide! Probably the only elevator that turns a mundane ride into a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' book.

This could actually be the result of a UI/UX testing phase gone terribly wrong. Sometimes, designers want to challenge conventional layouts to improve user engagement or make the interface more intuitive. Sadly, it seems that they overshot the mark by a mile in this case. It's a good lesson in why user testing and adherence to standards—especially for accessibility—are crucial in design.

Mismatched braille is no joke, though. It's not only a crappy design flaw but also a safety hazard. Imagine relying on that to get where you need to go only to end up on the wrong floor because someone couldn’t follow preschool numbering.

lol they probably let the intern do the design as a ‘fun learning project’. Now we’ve got the Picasso of elevator panels to thanks for our daily dose of confusion. Next up, alphabet soup keyboards. 😂
