Narrow sidewalks... why, just why?

Lol, so my city thought it would be smart to plant trees on the sidewalk, leaving barely any room to walk. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for going green, but just makes us walk in the road. Like seriously, who approved that?

That's dodgy indeed, but hmm... you could consider it an 'urban jungle gym'. It gives walking an adventurous twist lmao

Clearly, the city needs to learn a thing or two about minimalism and practicality. Yes, we need trees, but there's a way to incorporate them without creating obstacle courses on the sidewalks!

Back in my days, we had proper city planning. Sidewalks for people, roads for vehicles and parks for trees. Nobody had to play dodge-the-tree while out for a walk!

Urban planner here. This could be the result of poor planning or it could potentially be an attempt at 'traffic calming', which is a method used to slow traffic and increase safety for pedestrians. Unfortunately, sometimes these plans don't translate well onto the actual landscape. And what you're experiencing should be a great feedback point for the city. They should also maintain the trees properly so as not to obstruct the walkways.

Don't see the problem. Maybe you're just a bigfoot destroying our lovely trees 😂

Surely, this isn’t ideal for pedestrians, but there’s an upside too! Remember, they're helping filter our air, provide shade, and beautify the place. However, balance is key, and your city may have missed the mark here lol.

Dude, I know right? My city once painted a crosswalk that led straight into a concrete wall. Now we have trees in the mix too.
